Joseph Paquette, Former Utility Chief Executive, Joins USEC Board; William White to Leave the Board upon Completion of His Term
BETHESDA, Md., Sep 7, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- USEC Inc. (NYSE:USU) announced today that Joseph Paquette has joined the USEC Board of Directors and that William White will not seek re-election to the Board upon completion of his term.

Paquette has been a major figure in the electric utility and nuclear industries, serving as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of PECO Energy Company until his retirement in 1997. He has also served as Chairman of the Edison Electric Institute and a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations.

"Joe's strong management, technical and financial experience in the electric utility and nuclear industries will enhance our insights into industry and customer considerations, strategies and issues," said Jim Mellor, USEC Board Chairman.

Paquette joins the USEC Board with over two years of experience serving on the Company's Strategic Advisory Council, which advises the Company on matters related to the nuclear and electric power industries, advanced enrichment technologies and national security.

White will not seek another term on the Board due to a desire to focus his time commitments on his rapidly growing firm, WEDGE Group Incorporated, where he serves as CEO. "We regret Bill's decision not to seek another term. He has been a strong and valued asset to our Board," Mellor said. "We have benefited from Bill's wide range of experience in international energy matters both in government and in the private sector. We certainly wish him well and continued success in all his endeavors." White's term ends in November 2001.
