BETHESDA, Md., May 14, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --USEC Inc. (NYSE:USU) announced today the appointment of Paul Jacobson as vice president, corporate communications. In this role, Jacobson will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of USEC's internal and external communications with employees, the media and other constituencies. Jacobson reports to Christine Ciccone, senior vice president, external relations.
"Paul brings a wealth of experience from diverse industry and government communications assignments to USEC at a critical time in the company's efforts to deploy our American Centrifuge technology," said Ciccone. "We are excited to have him leading our communications efforts going forward."
Prior to joining USEC, Jacobson served as a communications consultant to several organizations. Prior to that, he served as vice president, corporate communications, for Evergreen Energy, a green energy technology company focused on mitigating the effects of coal-fired electricity production.
Previously, he served as vice president, corporate communications, for Adelphia Communications, Inc. as part of a reorganization management team that guided the company for three years. Before that, he served as deputy director of communications for Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN), vice president, corporate communications, for STARZ Encore Group, and in several other communications positions for media and technology companies and elected officials.
Jacobson hold a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism and political science from Syracuse University.
