USEC Appoints Paul Sullivan Vice President for Operations
BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 2009--USEC Inc. (NYSE: USU) today named Paul Sullivan, a 20-year veteran of
major defense systems design, development and production, as its next
vice president, Operations. Sullivan assumes a position vacated in July
2008 when Russell B. Starkey became vice president, American Centrifuge.
In his new position, Sullivan will be responsible for USEC's production
operations and contract work for the U.S. Department of Energy at the
Paducah, Ky., and Piketon, Ohio, plant facilities.

well as he transitions from protecting U.S. national security to
ensuring our energy security," said Robert Van Namen, senior vice
president of uranium enrichment at USEC. "We are fortunate to have
someone with such a distinguished career join our USEC team."
Sullivan, who served most recently as the Commander of the Naval Sea
Systems Command, recently retired with the rank of Vice Admiral after 34
years of service in the U.S. Navy. He previously served as Chief
Engineer of the Naval Sea Systems Command and Program Manager of the Virginia
and Seawolf submarine classes. Sullivan's leadership led to the
delivery of 22 new ships, 63 major ship overhauls and more than 140
private sector overhauls.
A native of Chatham, N.J., Sullivan graduated from the U.S. Naval
Academy with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and holds dual
degrees of Master of Science (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering)
and Ocean Engineer from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
