USEC Inc. Names Larry B. Cutlip Director, Centrifuge Manufacturing

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2008--USEC Inc. (NYSE:USU) has named Larry B. Cutlip as director, centrifuge manufacturing for the American Centrifuge Plant. In this role, Cutlip will lead USEC's team charged with ensuring that reliable, high-quality components are manufactured for the American Centrifuge Plant by USEC's strategic suppliers and manufacturing partners. Cutlip reports to Russell Starkey, interim vice president, American Centrifuge.

Cutlip previously served in several operations and engineering management positions for the United States Enrichment Corporation at the Piketon, Ohio, site where he has worked since 1981. Most recently, he served as director, program management and strategic planning, in which he was responsible for overall program management, development and administration of contracts, and long-term strategic planning.

From 2002 to 2006, Cutlip directed USEC's Technetium Cleanup Program in which USEC removed technetium-99 from out-of-specification uranium for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Under Cutlip's management, USEC was able to recover the asset value of the feed material for DOE. In December 2006, Cutlip received USEC's annual Chairman's award for his oversight of this program.

In several months, Cutlip will transfer from director, centrifuge manufacturing to become director, centrifuge assembly and startup and assume responsibility for all assembly and startup activities of the American Centrifuge Plant.

Cutlip holds a bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics from Muskingum College. He has completed Advanced Management Training School through Martin Marietta Materials as well as numerous other technical and management training programs.

A Pike County native and a former president of Waverly City Council, Cutlip is currently a member of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Ohio Diversification Initiative. He lives in Waverly with his wife, Bernadette, and their five children, Kyle, Alli, Ryan, Emily and Ethan.
