USEC Inc. Names Sydney M. Ferguson as Senior Vice President
BETHESDA, Md., Apr 29, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- William H. Timbers, President and Chief Executive Officer of USEC Inc. (NYSE:USU) announced today the appointment of Sydney McNiff Ferguson as Senior Vice President, responsible for government relations and corporate communications.

Ms. Ferguson has an extensive background in public affairs and communications. Her most recent position was Managing Director of Qorvis Communications Inc., an international public affairs and communications firm, with headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she was responsible for coordinating and managing public affairs and communications programs for clients across the nation, including USEC Inc.

Previously, Ms. Ferguson founded and managed her own consulting firm, which specialized in development and strategic planning for corporations and non-profit organizations.

Ms. Ferguson was also Vice President of Jack Ferguson & Associates, a Washington, D.C. government relations firm. She has served in key staff roles for members of the House and Senate, specializing in energy and environmental affairs. She has first-hand experience working on numerous political campaigns in various staff and management positions.

She is well known in Washington for her leadership activities in various charitable, cultural and not-for-profit organizations, including board memberships, fundraising and management of special events.

Ms. Ferguson received a B.A. in Political Economics from the Colorado College.
