Wingfield replaces Ronald Seeholzer, who has been named as a senior manager with the Edison Electric Institute, the investor-owned electric utility association.
Wingfield joined USEC in July 1998 and initially served as director, corporate communications. He was promoted in May 1999 to director, investor communications.
Prior to working at USEC, Wingfield was manager of shareholder and customer communications at Washington Gas, and supervisor of shareholder communications and editorial services at Illinois Power. He previously served as an editor and bureau chief for the Daily Press in Newport News, Va. Wingfield earned a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri and will receive an MBA degree from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago this spring.
